ALBA MARIA TRUEBA SANTISO

Alba María Trueba Santiso is a Researcher at the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC) since January 2021, holding a Juan de la Cierva-Formación grant. She is affiliated with the BIOGROUP and CRETUS research groups, focusing on micropollutants biodegradation using proteomics. Her academic journey includes a Biology Bachelor's and Advanced Biotechnology Master's from the University of A Coruña, followed by a PhD (2018) on anaerobic bacteria degrading organohalides at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).

Research interests center on microbial biotechnology, environmental proteomics, and anaerobic bioremediation. Notable work includes

• Enrichment of anaerobic bacteria for pollutant degradation
• Metaproteomic analysis of N-damo reactors
• Biodegradation of emerging pollutants like PBAT and sulfamethoxazole
