Prof. A.T. (Bert) Marseille is a Professor of Public Administration at the University of Groningen’s Faculty of Law, specializing in the empirical study of administrative law. He holds a PhD in Law and has extensive experience in both academic and judicial roles, including serving as a deputy judge at the Centrale Raad van Beroep. His research focuses on administrative law, dispute resolution, and judicial review, with notable contributions to Dutch legal journals such as Ars Aequi and Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Bestuursrecht. Marseille is actively involved in editorial boards of legal publications, academic societies like the European Group for Public Administration, and policy advisory roles. He teaches courses on public administration, legal research methods, and social science methodologies. His recent work examines procedural justice in social security cases and the societal effectiveness of administrative rulings.
