Prof. A.R. (Alan) Muller is a Professor of International Management at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Economics and Business. Previously, he held roles as Associate Professor and MBA Program Director at the University of Amsterdam (2011–2015) and taught International Business at the University of Washington (2008–2010). He earned his PhD in Management (cum laude) from RSM Erasmus University, alongside a Master's in International Relations (cum laude) and a Bachelor's in History (cum laude). His research focuses on corporate social behaviors, CSR drivers, and cross-border management, with publications in journals like Academy of Management Review and Strategic Management Journal.
Alan serves as Associate Editor for Business & Society and contributes to editorial boards of Journal of International Business Policy and others. He has reviewed for top-tier journals including Administrative Science Quarterly and Organization Science. His teaching includes courses on International Business and CSR in Multinationals. He previously served as the EIBA Netherlands representative (2017–2022).
