Prof. A.J.A. Winnubst is a Full Professor at the University of Twente (Faculty of Science and Technology, Inorganic Membranes Department) and Honorary Professor at the University of Science and Technology of China. His research focuses on inorganic membranes for gas and solvent separation, emphasizing material science, ceramic composites, and membrane fabrication. He holds editorial roles in the Journal of the European Ceramic Society and is a Fellow of the European Ceramic Society. With 18 supervised PhD projects, his work contributes to sustainable technologies aligned with UN SDGs. Key collaborations include projects on proton-conducting materials and industrial wastewater treatment.
Research interests include hybrid ceramic membranes, material microstructure control, and energy/environmental applications such as hydrogen separation and solvent nanofiltration. His recent studies explore grafting techniques, nanoporous materials, and mechanical properties of ceramic composites.
