Abhishta is an Associate Professor in the Industrial Engineering and Business Information Systems group at the University of Twente, Faculty of Behavioural, Management and Social Sciences (BMS). His work bridges cybersecurity and economic modeling, focusing on quantifying the financial consequences of cyber threats for organizations.
His research interests lie at the intersection of cybersecurity, data-driven economic modeling, and organizational decision-making. He develops and adapts empirical methods to assess the financial impact of cyberattacks—particularly DDoS and malware incidents—enabling organizations to make informed investments in security defenses. He is also affiliated with the Behavioural Data Science Incubator at BMS, where he applies data science techniques to address complex social science challenges.
