A Yemisi Jimoh

A Yemisi Jimoh is a Professor in the W.E.B. Du Bois Department of Afro-American Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, within the College of Humanities and Fine Arts. Her scholarship and teaching focus on African American cultural and literary studies, with additional research interests in critical race studies, narratology, and onomastics.

Professor Jimoh has held prestigious positions including Visiting Fellow at Harvard University's W.E.B. Du Bois Institute and participant in the National Endowment for the Humanities' Summer Institute on the Civil Rights Movement. The department she belongs to is recognized for its exceptional record in diversity and social justice commitments, having received the American Historical Association’s Equity Award.
