Aída R. Guhlincozzi

Aída R. Guhlincozzi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography at the University of Missouri, within the College of Arts and Science. She holds a PhD in Geography & GIScience from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with minors in Latino/Latina Studies and Geography & GIScience, and a BS in Geography from Texas A&M University.

Her research focuses on health geography, health GIS, and the intersection of race, ethnicity, language, and gender in healthcare. She examines healthcare accessibility for Latinx populations in suburban Chicago, employing community geography, feminist geographies, and qualitative GIS methodologies. Additionally, she studies equity, diversity, and inclusion in the Geosciences, particularly addressing barriers for students of color and dismantling systemic inequities in academia.

Her publications analyze spatial mismatch in healthcare access for Latinxs, vaccination accessibility for vulnerable populations, and strategies to increase diversity in STEM fields. Awards include the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship and recognition for mentoring and service.
