Øyvind Solberg

Øyvind Solberg is a Professor at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), within the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering. He holds a Cand.mag, Cand.scient, and Dr.Scient degree from NTNU and is a member of the Algebra Group at NTNU. His academic memberships include the American Mathematical Society, Norwegian Mathematical Society, and Det kongelige Norske Videnskabers Selskab (DKNVS).

Research Interests

Professor Solberg's research focuses on

• Algebraic structures and representation theory
• Homological algebra and cohomology rings
• Hopf algebras and quantum groups
• Koszul algebras and categories
• Support varieties and their applications
• Cotilting modules and exact categories

Recent Publications

His recent work includes studies on support varieties, homological invariants, and cohomology rings of finite-dimensional algebras, with a strong emphasis on axiomatic approaches and connections to Gorenstein categories.
