Prof. Önder Metin is a distinguished faculty member in the Chemistry Department at Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey, with over 160 publications spanning nanomaterials, catalysis, and sustainable energy applications. His research has established him as a leading scientist in 2D materials and their applications in energy conversion and environmental remediation.

He has pioneered novel catalysts for hydrogen evolution reactions, transfer hydrogenation processes, and C-H functionalization chemistry, with significant contributions to metal-free photocatalysis using graphitic carbon nitride-based materials.
His recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate a strong emphasis on heterostructure engineering, particularly black phosphorus composites with transition metal dichalcogenides and carbon-based materials.
