Жана Попова

Жана Попова is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communications within Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski". Her academic work focuses on media discourse analysis, political communication, and television studies. She has authored multiple monographs and contributed to key publications examining media representations of cultural and political phenomena in post-1989 Bulgaria.

Research Focus: Her studies explore the intersection of entertainment figures (particularly Estrada musicians) with political discourse in newspapers and TV shows from 1990-2017. She investigates how media constructs narratives around state-society relations and cultural identities.
