ŞİRİN FUNDA BERKSOY

ŞİRİN FUNDA BERKSOY is a Professor in the Department of Art History and Department of Western Art and Contemporary Art at the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University.

Her educational background includes:

• Licence in Archaeology from Istanbul University, Faculty of Letters (1981-1985)
• Master's in History from Bogazici University, Institute of Social Sciences (1985-1988)
• Doctorate in the Department of Archaeology and Art History, specializing in Western Art and Contemporary Art, from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences (1988-1993)

Her research interests span Art History with a focus on Western and Contemporary Art movements, complemented by expertise in Classical Archaeology and Archaeology. This interdisciplinary foundation reflects her engagement with historical methodologies and artistic evolution across eras.

Professor BERKSOY maintains advanced proficiency in German, achieving a perfect KPDS score of 100 in Fall 1995.
