Dr. Éva Frank is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular and Analytical Chemistry at the University of Szeged's Faculty of Science and Informatics. She holds a PhD (2000) and habilitation (2012) from the University of Szeged, and a DSc from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2018). Her research focuses on organic synthesis of bioactive compounds, heterocyclic derivatives, steroid model systems, and natural product-derived surfactants. She has led national and international research projects, including work on antiproliferative agents and androgen receptor targeting compounds. Frank has served as Secretary of the Organic and Medicinal Chemistry Division of HAS (2006-2017), Editorial Board Member of Steroids (2015-2019), and currently chairs the Organic Chemistry Program at the University of Szeged.
Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and heterocyclic compounds, with contributions to textbook development including Organic Reaction Mechanisms (2006). She has supervised laboratory practices for pharmacy, chemistry, and biology students, and conducted international teaching at the University of Tromsø. Frank's work has been recognized with awards including the Bolyai János Fellowship (2007-2010), Zemplén Géza Award (2007), and Scientific Award of her faculty (2015).
