ÇAĞATAY SARP

ÇAĞATAY SARP is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. His research focuses on migration sociology, social theory, integration/disintegration processes in divided societies, social memory, and refugee studies.

His recent publications explore themes such as international migration, refugee crises in Turkey, gender roles, and the sociological implications of forced displacement. Key subfields include qualitative analysis of migration sociology, social integration, and theoretical frameworks in Sorokin and Parsons’ systems theory.

He has contributed extensively to understanding the sociological dimensions of migration and social change, with a particular emphasis on Turkey and Ahiska Turks' resettlement. His work also intersects with religion, secularism, and postcolonial narratives of the 'Muslim Other' in Western contexts.
