Ángel R. Landa-Cánovas is a Staff Scientist at the Institute of Materials Science of Madrid (ICMM-CSIC) since 2008. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) (1993) and has held postdoctoral positions at University of Lund (1993–1996) and research roles at UCM (1995–2003) before joining CSIC. His work focuses on Transmission Electron Microscopy, Materials Science, and Nanotechnology.
His research interests include:
- Advanced electron microscopy techniques (HRTEM, STEM)
- Laser-material interactions and nanostructuring
- Semiconductor defect engineering
- 2D materials growth and characterization
- Quantum spin systems and magnetic oxides
