Dr. Mª Ángeles Pérez Ansón is a Full Professor of Structural Mechanics at the Department of Mechanical Engineering , University of Zaragoza, Spain. She holds a PhD in Computational Mechanics (2004) and has held postdoctoral positions at Trinity College Dublin and École de Technologie Supérieure (Montreal). She is an Associate Director of the Aragón Institute of Engineering Research (I3A) and served as President of the European Society of Biomechanics (2018–2020). Her work focuses on computational biomechanics, bone mechanobiology, and tissue engineering. Education: PhD in Computational Mechanics (2004), University of Zaragoza Research Interests: Her research integrates computational mechanics with biological systems, including bone remodeling, prosthetic design, and osteoporosis prevention. She develops multiscale models to predict fracture risks and optimize treatment strategies. Key Projects: Led initiatives like OSTEO-PREV (osteoporosis fracture prevention) and Curabone (bone regeneration modeling), funded by the EU and Spanish Ministry of Science. Awards: Best Technical Thesis of 2004 (University of Zaragoza) Professional Roles: Coordinator of the Biomedical Engineering Master’s program (2014–2019), and former Deputy Director of the School of Engineering (2009–2010).
