Prof. Aukje Mantel-Teeuwisse is a Professor of Pharmacy and Global Health at Utrecht University, leading the Undergraduate School of Science since 2023. She holds a PharmD from Utrecht University (1998), followed by a PhD in Pharmacoepidemiology (2004). Her career includes roles as a community pharmacist, academic researcher, and part-time liaison at the Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board (2005–2010). Currently, she also serves as Scientific Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Pharmaceutical Policy and Regulation, focusing on global health policy, drug regulation, and pharmaceutical policy analysis. Her research emphasizes global health equity, drug regulatory science, and medicine use variation. Over 200 peer-reviewed articles highlight her contributions to HTA methodologies, oncology drug economics, and access to medicines in low-resource settings. Educationally, she oversees Pharmacy and Drug Innovation programs, advocating for digital transformation in pharmaceutical education. Leadership roles include directing Utrecht’s School of Pharmacy (2014–2023) and contributing to international committees on pharmaceutical policy and healthcare access. Key initiatives include addressing medicine shortages, improving access to childhood cancer treatments, and evaluating policies regulating pharmaceutical supply chains. Her work bridges academia, policy, and global health, with a focus on aligning regulatory, HTA, and clinical guideline practices to enhance healthcare outcomes.
