Cristian Linte is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Kate Gleason College of Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), with additional appointment as Program Faculty in the School of Mathematics and Statistics. His academic journey began with a BASc in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at the University of Windsor in Canada, followed by MESc and Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to joining RIT, he completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Biomedical Imaging Resource at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, which transitioned into a research-track academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering in 2014. His work integrates advanced imaging techniques with computational modeling to create novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in cardiovascular medicine. He has pioneered methods for cardiac wave dynamics reconstruction, myocardial active stress visualization, and AI-based segmentation of cardiac structures from medical images. His publication record demonstrates consistent contributions to cardiac biomechanics and medical imaging, with recent work emphasizing deep learning applications in cardiac MRI analysis, surgical instrument segmentation, and abdominal aortic aneurysm assessment.
