Professor Vike Martina Plock is a literary critic and cultural historian specializing in modernist literature, with a focus on James Joyce, Virginia Woolf, Elizabeth Bowen, and interwar women’s writing. Affiliated with the University of Exeter as a Professor of Modern Literature and Culture and Head of the Department of English and Creative Writing since 2022, she has published three major monographs: Joyce, Medicine and Modernity (2010), Modernism, Fashion and Interwar Women Writers (2017), and The BBC German Service during the Second World War: Broadcasting to the Enemy (2021).
