Diana Adela Martin is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Engineering Education (CEE) within University College London (UCL). She previously served as a postdoctoral researcher at TU Eindhoven between 2021-2023. Her professional roles include Associate Editor for Science and Engineering Ethics and The European Journal of Engineering Education , co-chair of the Ethics Special Interest Group (SIG) at SEFI (European Society for Engineering Education), and Europe board representative in REEN (Research in Engineering Education Network). Diana holds a PhD from TU Dublin (2020) and completed her education in theoretical philosophy and logic at the University of Bucharest (2004-2008) followed by value studies and liberal arts at Bard College Berlin (2009-2011). Her research focuses on integrating engineering ethics, responsibility, sustainability, and societal themes into engineering education and accreditation systems. She develops teaching materials and case studies addressing these areas, emphasizing intercultural ethics and pedagogical innovation. Diana has collaborated with institutions like the European Commission DG Research & Innovation and founded the educational NGO Link Education and Practice in Romania to enhance graduate employability and academia-private sector partnerships. Notable recognitions include the Australasian Journal of Engineering Education’s top citations (2022), an Ethics Education Research Award (2025), and the Glen Earthman Dissertation Award (2022). In advisory capacities, she has engaged policymakers from multiple European nations and organized conferences such as the 51st SEFI Annual Conference (2023). Her work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly through fostering equitable and sustainable engineering practices. Diana’s activities span editorial work, conference organizing, and workshops like the CCESTEM Ethics Workshop (2023), reflecting her commitment to advancing ethical education across borders.
