Senior Lecturer
Dr. Abdullah Gök is a Senior Lecturer and Chancellor's Fellow at the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, Strathclyde Business School, and an Honorary Research Fellow at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR), Alliance Manchester Business School. His research focuses on innovation policy evaluation, entrepreneurship strategies in SMEs, and computational methods for social innovation analysis. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester (2010) and degrees from Middle East Technical University. Education: Doctor of Philosophy, University of Manchester (2010) Master of Science in Science and Technology Policy Studies, Middle East Technical University (2006) Bachelor of Science in Economics, Middle East Technical University (2003) Research Interests: Innovation policy, social innovation classification using machine learning, author heritage identification via surname analysis, and policy evaluation methodologies. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through advancing education and entrepreneurship strategies. Grants & Projects: Lead Investigator on 'Tracking synthetic biology' (2014) and Co-Investigator in the RISIS project (2014-2017) and 'Compendium of evidence on Innovation Policy' (2011-2012). Focus areas include synthetic biology applications, research policy infrastructure, and policy intervention effectiveness. Labs/Teams: Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, MIoIR, and collaborations with the Institute for Data Science and AI at Manchester.
