Tracy Redhead is a Lecturer and Chair of Contemporary Popular Music at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Western Australia. Her work bridges music, technology, and creativity, focusing on dynamic music systems and interactive technologies. She leads projects like the Semantic Machine app and authored Interactive Technologies and Music Making: Transmutable Music (2024). She holds a PhD in Music from the University of Newcastle and an MA in Interactive Music from Queensland University of Technology. Her research explores real-time adaptive music, AI in composition, and audience engagement through interactive platforms. Notable projects include the ARC Linkage-funded Economic and Cultural Value of Australian Music Exports and collaborations with institutions like Abbey Road Studios. Redhead’s work contributes to UN SDG 4 (Education) and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
