Their interdisciplinary approach combines Bourdieusian theory, sociological governance frameworks, and critical policy analysis. Laursen has led projects such as At balancere et lederliv (2025–2027) and co-led the EU-funded Inclusive Education for All Needs (2024–2026). They actively engage in peer reviews for journals like the European Educational Research Journal and present at international conferences, including BELMAS 2025. Notable publications include studies on teacher strategies for digital mandates, temporal governance in preschools, and comparative policy analyses of Denmark and Sweden. Their work bridges theory and practice, addressing urgent issues like AI integration and democratic schooling challenges.
