Assistant Professor
Dr. Monika Zielińska is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Technical Fundamentals of Architectural Design, Gdańsk University of Technology. Her research focuses on non-destructive testing of historical and modern construction materials, including timber, masonry, and laminated glass. She specializes in ultrasonic tomography, ground-penetrating radar (GPR), and finite element modeling (FEM) for structural integrity assessment. Key projects include investigations of historical churches in the West Vistula Delta and diagnostics of the Gdańsk Crane, a 14th-century landmark. Affiliations: Faculty of Architecture (since current appointment) Key Skills: Modal analysis, dynamic analysis, damage imaging Her 2023-2024 publications emphasize interdisciplinary approaches in heritage conservation, combining experimental methods with advanced computational models. Notable works include sonic tomography for rammed earth analysis and GPR-based floor diagnostics in historical structures. Grants: Led a PRELUDIUM project (2018-2021) on ultrasonic tomography algorithms and contributed to an OPUS-funded project on concrete cracking.
