Wojciech Guz is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Theoretical Linguistics within the Institute of Linguistics, Faculty of Humanities at John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin. His research primarily focuses on Polish syntax, discourse markers, and corpus linguistics, with specialization in complementizers, quotatives, and relative clauses. Research Interests: Guz investigates linguistic phenomena including: Functional and syntactic properties of Polish particles (e.g., że , co , tak ) Quotative strategies in spoken Polish Structural variation in relative clauses Corpus-based analysis of grammaticalization pathways Interface between syntax, pragmatics, and discourse Research Trends: His recent publications (2014-2024) demonstrate a methodological emphasis on corpus linguistics applied to Polish morphosyntax. Key thematic clusters include: (1) functional diversification of complementizers, (2) syntactic disintegration in relative clauses, and (3) pragmatic markers in speech reporting. Awards & Recognition: Individual Award II degree from the Rector of KUL (2020) Projects & Collaboration: Guz has led the NCN-funded project Non-canonical functions of 'że' in subordinate clauses of Polish and participates in the DARIAH-PL digital humanities infrastructure initiative. He maintains memberships in the Societas Linguistica Europaea and Slavic Linguistics Society.
