Associate Professor
Tomoki Taguchi is an Associate Professor at Waseda University, affiliated with both the Faculty of Education and Integrated Arts and Sciences and the Graduate School of Creative Science and Engineering. His research focuses on metamorphic petrology, mineralogy, and Raman spectroscopy applications in Earth science. Education: Ph.D. in Science from Nagoya University (2016). Research Interests: High-pressure metamorphism, crystal defect analysis, fluid-rock interactions, and UHP terrane evolution. His recent work includes developing Raman geobarometers for kyanite-quartz systems, analyzing coesite preservation mechanisms in subduction zones, and studying graphite microtexture deformation. These studies have been published in journals like American Mineralogist and Journal of Metamorphic Geology , with over 160 Scopus citations. Scientific awards include the JMPS Student Paper Award (2016) and multiple Best Paper Awards from the Japan Association of Mineralogical Sciences. Current projects funded by JSPS involve creating new Raman-based analytical methods for crystal defects and metamorphic fluid behavior studies.
