Professor Aidas Matijošius, currently serving as Dean of the Faculty of Physics at Vilnius University, is a leading figure in the Laser Research Center (LRC). With a career spanning decades, he has made significant contributions to the fields of Singular Optics , Nonlinear Optics , and Complex Light Structures . His research focuses on the generation and control of spiraling Bessel beams , terahertz pulse diagnostics , and optical parametric amplification , often bridging fundamental and applied physics. His work includes pioneering studies on topological charge transformations and broadband optical vortex generation , with applications in laser technology and advanced materials processing. He has supervised multiple doctoral students, including Maksym Ivanov, and led major projects like Laserlab-Europe V (2019–2023) and ConTeX (2008–2010). As an expert in project evaluation for the Latvian Science Council and a peer reviewer for journals such as Optical Engineering , he actively shapes research agendas internationally. Key Collaborations : German Physical Society symposiums, Quantum Electronics and Laser Science Conference (QELS) Projects : Laserlab-Europe, ConTeX Leadership : Director of LRC (2019–2023), Senate member at Vilnius University (2018–2023)
