Assistant Professor
Dr. Lokman Tay is an Assistant Professor at Akdeniz University, Faculty of Letters, Department of Art History, where he has served since 2015. Previously, he worked as a Lecturer at Akdeniz University (2013–2015) and Erciyes University (2010–2013). He earned his Ph.D. in Art History from Erciyes University (2015) and holds a Master's degree in Art History from Gazi University (2010). Doctorate: Erciyes University, Social Sciences Institute, Art History (2015) Master’s: Gazi University, Social Sciences Institute, Art History (2010) Bachelor’s: Gazi University, Faculty of Letters, Art History (2008) Associate Degree: Tokat Gaziosmanpasa University, Vocational School (2002) His research focuses on Turkish-Islamic art, archaeology, and historical architecture, particularly Seljuk and Ottoman-era structures in Anatolia. His publications examine topics such as village architecture, water mills, mosque decorations, and historical inscriptions. Between 2010 and 2022, he authored 34 publications, including peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Tay has supervised 10 postgraduate theses, including studies on Antalya's Seljuk bridges, tombstones, and wooden decorations. He also contributed to the 2017 project "Kayseri İli Pınarbaşı İlçesindeki Köy Okullarının Tespit ve Belgelenmesi" as a team member. His work often bridges archaeological fieldwork with academic critique, as seen in his reviews for journals like MJH İnsani Bilimler Dergisi .
