Vivek Agarwal is a Lecturer in Civil Engineering at Northumbria University, specializing in Geospatial Environmental Engineering. His research utilizes remote sensing and GIS techniques to investigate groundwater dynamics, land subsidence, and hydrological extremes. He applies advanced geospatial methods to address environmental challenges in water resource management. Education includes a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Nottingham (2021) and an M.Tech in Geomatics Engineering from IIT Roorkee (2016). His doctoral research developed geospatial methods for groundwater analysis. Research focuses on integrated water resources assessment, drought monitoring using multi-index approaches, and contaminant transport in groundwater systems. Current projects examine PFAS isomer behavior in water systems, multi-index drought assessment in arid regions, and sustainable irrigation strategies. Dr. Agarwal has received recognition including the Harris Spotlight Award and Young Researcher Award. His work combines field measurements with InSAR, GRACE, and optical remote sensing data.
