Sherman Aclaracion Lee is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Christopher Newport University, where he teaches Personality Psychology and the Psychology of Death, Dying, and Bereavement. He is actively engaged in research, mentorship, and public outreach in the fields of grief, anxiety, and psychometrics. Education: PhD in Educational Psychology, University of Kentucky EdS in Counseling Psychology, University of Kentucky BA in Psychology, University of Hawaii MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Emporia State University Dr. Lee's research focuses on grief, anxiety, personality, and scale development, with a particular emphasis on pandemic-related mental health, pet loss, and religious coping. His work integrates clinical, social, and psychometric perspectives to develop tools that assess emotional and behavioral responses to loss and trauma. His recent publications center on the development and validation of mental health screening tools such as the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale (CAS), Pandemic Grief Scale (PGS), Grief Impairment Scale (GIS), and Mass Shootings Anxiety Scale (MSAS). These tools have been widely adopted in clinical and research settings, reflecting a strong trend toward practical, evidence-based assessment in response to modern crises.
