Dr. Nils Peters is an Assistant Professor in Electronic & Electrical Engineering at Trinity College Dublin (TCD). He specializes in audio signal processing, spatial audio, and machine learning applications in acoustics. Previously, he held roles at Qualcomm and the International Audio Laboratories Erlangen (Fraunhofer IIS/FAU). His research spans psychoacoustics, XR technologies, and accessibility in audio systems. Education: PhD in Music Technology, McGill University (Canada) Postdoctoral work at UC Berkeley MSc in Electrical and Audio Engineering, Graz University of Technology (Austria) Research Interests: Dr. Peters focuses on bridging audio engineering with human perception. Key areas include spatial audio rendering, emotion preservation in anonymized speech, and acoustic localization systems. His work integrates machine learning for audio signal analysis and IoT applications in sound environments.
