Jin Hong Kim is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at Eastern Illinois University (EIU). She earned her Ph.D. in Public Policy and Management from The Ohio State University’s John Glenn College of Public Affairs in 2022, alongside a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. At EIU, Dr. Kim teaches courses such as Introduction to Public Policy, Public Budgeting, and Research Methods for Public Administration and Policy Research. Her research explores the intersection of service innovation, change management, and public value creation, particularly in the context of governments and public organizations adopting new management practices and technologies like Lean and Six Sigma. Her recent publications highlight interdisciplinary work, spanning both materials science (e.g., high-pressure electronic structure studies) and public administration (e.g., Total Quality Management in service delivery). Dr. Kim previously taught at Ohio State University’s Glenn College, instructing undergraduate and Masters in Public Administration (MPA) students on public management and policy formulation.
