Associate Professor
Anna Bonmatí Tomàs is an Associate Professor in the Department of Nursing at the University of Girona (UdG) since 2019. She is an active member of the Health and Healthcare Research Group and has coordinated the European Training Consortium Public Health and Health Promotion (ETC-PHHP) since 2016. She also serves on the Florence Network Board (since 2020) and acts as Associate Editor of Global Health Promotion (since 2021). She investigates salutogenic approaches that strengthen community assets and empower vulnerable groups such as immigrant women and sexual/gender minorities. Additional strands of work include nursing education innovations (especially simulation-based learning and assessment), healthy ageing in place , and digital health literacy during crises such as COVID-19. Interdisciplinary collaboration and cross-border projects are hallmarks of her research portfolio. Across her recent publications she has examined breastfeeding support networks after humanitarian disasters, validated instruments for medication-safety education, evaluated nurse-centred discharge planning, and explored the interplay between nurses’ psychological resources (e.g., optimism, sense of coherence) and occupational wellbeing. These works collectively advance evidence-based practice in both community and clinical settings.
