Associate Professor
Shengfan Zhang is an Associate Professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering , College of Engineering , University of Arkansas. He holds a Ph.D. and M.I.E. in Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University and a B.M. in Management Science from Fudan University. Research Focus: Stochastic systems, statistical modeling, and decision analysis in healthcare and supply chain management. Teaching: Courses in probability, stochastic processes, quality engineering, and healthcare decision modeling. His research integrates Markov decision processes, simulation, and machine learning to address challenges in medical decision making, health disparities, and process improvement. Recent work emphasizes cancer screening policies, inventory management, and patient admission planning.
