Alejandro Arauz is an Assistant Professor in the Fine Art Program at Queen's University, Faculty of Arts and Science. His interdisciplinary practice bridges print media, performance, and video to explore identity, diaspora, and transplantation, particularly focusing on Latin American communities in Canada and the USA. He holds an Honors BFA from the University of Windsor and an MFA from Louisiana State University. Research interests include curatorial practices, art history, and diasporic narratives. Key projects include Tracing Kingston’s Solidarities , a SSHRC-funded community performance project, and Incunabula Wall , an OAC-funded installation addressing Canadian identity symbolism. His works often employ 'print performance' and 'mediated methods' to critique migration and cultural hybridity. Notable exhibitions include Full Court Press Juried Print Exhibition of the Americas and Nuit Blanche 2016 . Collaborations with institutions like Agnes Etherington Art Centre and Near North Voices highlight his commitment to interdisciplinary and community-focused art.
