Benjamin D. Wayman is the James F. and Leona N. Andrews Chair for Christianity and Associate Professor of Theology at Greenville University. He chairs the Bastian School of Theology, Philosophy, and Ministry, while directing the Theological Studies program, the university's core theology course (THEO 110), and the Ministry Internship Program. He concurrently serves as senior pastor of St. Paul’s Free Methodist Church. Education : Ph.D. in Historical Theology, Saint Louis University (2013) M.Div., Duke Divinity School (2007) B.A. in Philosophy and Psychology, Greenville University (2002) Research Focus : Wayman specializes in historical theology, biblical hermeneutics (particularly Psalms and New Testament), early Christianity, Wesleyan theology, and ministerial formation. His work bridges patristic scholarship with contemporary ecclesial practice, exploring themes like sacramental theology, Christian unity, and the future of theological education. Publications : His scholarship includes four books analyzing early Christian approaches to the Psalms and women's ordination, alongside articles examining theological responses to societal crises, pastoral ethics, and patristic exegesis.
