Sara Salazar Hughes is an Associate Professor of Global Studies at California State University - Monterey Bay (CSUMB), specializing in political and cultural geography with a focus on territorial conflict and land governance in Israel/Palestine. She holds a PhD in Geography from UCLA (2017), an MA in International Studies from the University of San Francisco (2011), and a BA in Arabic from UCLA (2009). Her research examines mechanisms of territorial control, environmental justice, and settler colonialism, emphasizing ethnographic and qualitative methods to highlight marginalized voices in contested spaces.
