Professor Lorna Fraser is a Professor of Palliative Care and Child Health at King's College London, based in the Cicely Saunders Institute within the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care. She leads research on pediatric palliative care, life-limiting conditions, and healthcare inequalities. Her work integrates clinical pediatrics with epidemiological analyses to influence policy, including vaccine prioritization and service specifications. Education: MBChB, MRCPCH, MSc, MMedSci, PhD. She founded the Martin House Research Centre, focusing on multidisciplinary care for children with life-limiting conditions. Awards include the Royal College of Paediatrics' Patient Involvement Prize and the European Association of Palliative Care’s Postdoctoral Award (2018). Research focuses on child health, gender dysphoria epidemiology, and outcome measures in palliative care. Key themes include caregiver experiences, policy impact, and healthcare equity. Recent studies address midazolam prescribing practices, financial burdens on families, and high-quality palliative care definitions from children’s perspectives.
