Assistant Professor
Anita Tusche is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and holds a cross-appointment in the Department of Psychology at Queen's University, Canada. She is also a member of the Centre for Neuroscience Studies and a Visiting Associate at the California Institute of Technology. Her research focuses on neuroeconomics, combining insights from psychology, neuroscience, and behavioral economics to model decision-making processes related to dietary choices, altruism, and consumer behavior. She employs fMRI, eye-tracking, computational modeling, and machine learning techniques. Education: PhD in Psychology, Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (2013) M.A. in Psychology, Technische Universität Dresden (2007) Research Interests: Neuroeconomics, cognitive and social neuroscience, computational modeling of decision-making, prosocial behavior mechanisms, neural correlates of empathy, and the role of attention in decision processes. Her lab investigates how neural processes influence choices across diverse domains like health behaviors and social interactions. Grants & Advising: Supervised PhD student Dr. Lisa Bas (completed 2023) Current postdoc: Remi Janet (2023–present) Lab Activities: Queen’s Neuroeconomics Laboratory explores decision-making through interdisciplinary methods. Recent projects include studies on dietary self-control mechanisms, stress effects on altruism, and neural coding of social value. The lab emphasizes translational research to improve real-world outcomes in health and environmental contexts.
