Associate Professor
Francesco Bosello is an Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Statistics at Ca' Foscari University of Venice. He is affiliated with the Research Institute for Complexity and collaborates with the Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC). His research focuses on climate change impacts, economic policy assessment, and integrated modeling tools like Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) and Integrated Assessment Models (IAMs). Education: PhD in Economics (Ca’ Foscari University), MSc in Economics (UCL), Bachelor’s in Economics (Ca’ Foscari). He has held roles at the University of Milan (2007–2020) and was a researcher at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. His work includes coordinating large-scale EU-funded projects like COACCH and CASCADES, focusing on climate adaptation and policy design. Research Interests: Climate change macroeconomic impacts, adaptation strategies, mitigation policies, and environmental sustainability. His studies address regional economic vulnerability, climate service evaluation, and the water-energy-food nexus. Grants & Projects: H2020 CASCADES (adaptive European societies), H2020 COACCH (climate costs assessment), and World Bank initiatives on low-carbon growth in Asia. He also leads research on climate risks, sea-level rise, and socio-economic modeling. Teaching: Courses include ‘CGE and Integrated Assessment Modelling of Climate Change’, ‘Environmental Economics’, and ‘Sustainable Tourism Economics’ at undergraduate and graduate levels.
