Juan M. Hincapie-Castillo, PharmD, MS, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Epidemiology at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is a member of the UNC Center for Pharmacoepidemiology and the Injury Prevention Research Center. His research focuses on legal epidemiology and pharmacoepidemiology, evaluating policy impacts on drug safety and pain management equity. He earned his PharmD, MS, and PhD from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Education: PharmD (Pharmacy), University of Florida MS (Pharmaceutical Sciences), University of Florida PhD (Pharmacoepidemiology), University of Florida Research Interests: Dr. Hincapie-Castillo examines the effects of state/federal laws on healthcare outcomes, particularly in pain management, opioid policies, and psychotropic medication safety. He advocates for evidence-based policymaking and equitable care access through large-scale data analysis.
