Dr. James Kashanian is an Assistant Professor of Urology and Reproductive Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, and serves as Director of Male Sexual Health and an Assistant Attending Urologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Campus. He specializes in male reproductive medicine and sexual health, with a focus on helping adolescent and adult males with infertility, low testosterone, and sexual dysfunction. Dr. Kashanian's clinical and research interests include: Erectile dysfunction and penile prosthetic surgery Men's health and wellness Fertility preservation in cancer patients Male reproductive medicine and microsurgery His extensive publication record demonstrates a strong focus on Peyronie's disease, varicocelectomy outcomes, male infertility, and sexual dysfunction. Recent research has explored topics such as collagenase injection for Peyronie's disease, microsurgical varicocelectomy effects on sperm function, predictors of sperm concentration improvement, and genetic aspects of male infertility including AZFc microdeletions and Klinefelter syndrome. His work often addresses practical clinical questions with implications for improving patient care in male reproductive medicine. Dr. Kashanian is actively involved in professional organizations including the American Urological Association (AUA), the Sexual Medicine Society of North America (SMSNA), the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), the American Society of Andrology (ASA), and the American Society for Men's Health (ASMH). He completed his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, followed by general surgery and Urology residency training at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.
