Senior Lecturer
Dr. Stella Talic is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Epidemiology at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. She is Head of the Pharmacoepidemiology Research Group and holds honorary appointments at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, The Alfred Hospital, Cabrini Health, and the Centre for Learning Analytics at Monash University. Her work bridges clinical research, public health, and medical education. Education: Doctorate in Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University Master in Clinical Epidemiology, Monash University Bachelor in Biomedicine, University of Zagreb / Monash University Her research focuses on pharmacoepidemiology, chronic disease prevention and management, medication adherence, patient safety, and therapeutic outcomes. She employs real-world evidence, systematic reviews, and mixed-methods approaches to improve clinical decision-making and health outcomes. She has contributed to landmark studies on mask-wearing and non-pharmaceutical interventions during the pandemic, published in journals like The BMJ and Nature . The recent publications highlight a strong trend in cardiovascular and chronic disease research, with emphasis on medication adherence, clinical decision support systems, and public health interventions. Her work increasingly integrates data analytics and digital tools to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. She leads the Pharmacoepidemiology Research Group and collaborates extensively through initiatives like the Monash Alfred Baker Centre for Cardiovascular Research and international networks such as ENABLE. Her work supports reflective clinical practice and policy development through analytics and evidence synthesis.
