Dr. Azhar Mahmood is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computing and Digital Technologies at the University of East London's School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology and has prior academic experience as an Associate Professor at CUST and SZABIST in Pakistan, and as an Assistant Professor at NCU University in China. PhD: Computer Science, Huazhong University of Science and Technology MS: Software Engineering, SZABIST MSc: Computer Science, SSUET His research spans Artificial Intelligence, focusing on Deep Learning, Data Mining, Machine Learning, and Natural Language Processing. Key applications include Predictive Analytics in Healthcare and Smart Cities & IoT. He has authored over 35 publications and supervised four PhD dissertations. Dr. Mahmood's research grants include collaborations with Xiaomi (China), IBM & NIH (USA), SAP (Germany), and NUS (Singapore). Notable grants include 81 Million PKR for a Predictive Analytics Lab in Pakistan, NIH funding for infectious disease prediction, and Jiangxi Province grants for ICU mortality research.
