Assistant Professor
Dr. Ja-beom Koo is an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering at The Cooper Union's Albert Nerken School of Engineering. He holds a B.S. and M.S. from Korea University (2006-2008) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington (2016). Before academia, he worked at SK Hynix Semiconductor and Intel Corporation, specializing in analog/RF circuit design and semiconductor technology development. His research focuses on RF IC design for wireless applications, leveraging industry experience in high-speed circuits and FinFet technology. He actively collaborates with institutions like TSMC and NVIDIA, and contributed to projects such as 140GHz transceiver systems and 22nm FinFet lab management. Dr. Koo emphasizes interdisciplinary education and student mentorship, as seen in his involvement with Cooper Union's Undergraduate Research Symposium and Vertically Integrated Projects.
