Senior Lecturer
Annika Rockenberger is a Senior Lecturer and Senior Academic Librarian at the University of Oslo's Humanities and Social Sciences Library, specializing in digital research methods and textual scholarship. She leads the Digital Research Methods team, supporting researchers in adopting digital tools and methodologies. Her role includes developing and delivering courses on digital humanities, programming (e.g., Python), and data management, as well as co-teaching in master's and PhD programs at UiO. She earned a Magister Artium from the Free University of Berlin and a PhD in Philosophy of Philology from the University of Oslo. Her research focuses on digital humanities, particularly the history of DH in Scandinavia, linked open data applications (e.g., NorKorr project), and digital scholarly editions like the Ethica Complementoria . She is a member of several academic societies, including DHNB and the Norwegian Society of Language and Literature. Rockenberger is the Project Manager of BærUt!, a UiO hub promoting sustainable digital scholarly editions. She collaborates with researchers, developers, and cultural heritage institutions to address long-term preservation challenges. Her recent work includes advancing text recognition via AI tools like ChatGPT-4 and Transkribus, and advocating for open-access digital editions. Her teaching includes Carpentries-certified programming courses, digital edition workshops, and training in XML/TEI, Zotero, and Pandoc. She is actively involved in organizing conferences, seminars, and training sessions through the Digital Scholarship Center, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration in digital humanities.
