Douglas Phanstiel, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine. His research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of chromatin architecture and its role in cellular differentiation, particularly in diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and Alzheimer’s Disease. He leads a lab utilizing genomic, proteomic, and computational tools to study DNA looping, epigenetic regulation, and CRISPR-based genome editing.
