Associate Professor
Jens Jørgen Hansen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Design, Media and Educational Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU), Faculty of Humanities. His work bridges educational theory, digital learning, and subject-specific didactics, with a strong focus on Danish language education and digital literacy. About digital learning materials in schools" Master of Arts in Nordic Languages and Literature, Aarhus University, 1993 Master of Arts with minor in Cultural Work and Communication, Odense University, 1995 Supplementary education in Media, Rhetoric and Communication, Aarhus University, 1999 His research interests include digital learning and learning design, digital literacy in reading and writing, academic study skills, web communication, and Danish subject didactics. He emphasizes the integration of design principles with pedagogical practice to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes in digital environments. The most recent publications reflect a consistent focus on digital literacy, writing instruction, exam literacy, and the role of technology in education. Themes include the design of personal learning environments, the use of AI in learning, and the development of subject-specific literacy models, particularly in the Danish language context. He is involved in shaping policy and practice in Danish education through research, publications, and public engagement. He is a member of the Center for Primary School Research and has participated in national and Nordic research networks. His projects often emphasize co-creation, digital competence development, and innovation in teaching practices.
