Associate Professor
Dr. Moein Mehrtash is an Associate Professor in the Department of Automotive and Vehicle Engineering Technology at McMaster University's W Booth School of Engineering Practice and Technology. He specializes in automotive engineering technology, mechatronics, and engineering design, with a focus on experiential learning methodologies. His research spans micro-nano systems, transportation innovation, and the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies in education. Dr. Mehrtash chairs the Automotive and Vehicle Engineering Technology program and teaches advanced courses such as Fluid Mechanics (AUTOTECH 3TS3), Vehicle Dynamics (AUTOTECH 4DV3), and Kinematic and Dynamic Modelling (AUTOTECH 4MS3). He leads the McMaster Automotive Resource Center (MARC), emphasizing hands-on learning through experimental platforms and telepresence systems for automotive engineering education. His research publications highlight innovations in energy harvesting systems, magnetic microrobotics, and curriculum development for interdisciplinary engineering education. He actively develops experiential e-learning frameworks leveraging IoT, telepresence technologies, and problem-based learning strategies to enhance student engagement across diverse educational backgrounds.
