Associate Professor
Laura Rosendahl Huber is an Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship at the Department of Strategic Management and Entrepreneurship, Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University. She is also an Affiliated Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition and was an Associate at the Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard (2019–2024). Her academic journey includes a PhD in Economics from the University of Amsterdam, and prior roles as a Senior Research Fellow at Max Planck and a Visiting Fellow at Harvard. Her research focuses on two key themes: (1) the development of human capital and its impact on entrepreneurial decision-making and team performance, and (2) how personal characteristics—particularly gender and role (entrepreneur vs. manager)—influence strategic decisions. She employs field experiments as her primary research method, contributing significantly to understanding gender inequality in entrepreneurship and the effectiveness of entrepreneurship education. Her work has been published in top journals including Journal of Business Venturing , Research Policy , European Economic Review , and Labour Economics . A notable paper, 'Yes, I Can! - A Field Experiment on Female Role Model Effects in Entrepreneurship,' received the Best Empirical Paper Award from the Academy of Management (2018) and Best Paper at the Diana International Research Conference (2019). Her recent publications explore topics such as innovation vouchers, cognitive skills in teams, peer effects in education, and gender dynamics in funding access. She has served as an ad-hoc reviewer for prestigious journals such as Management Science , Research Policy , and Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice .
