Associate Professor
Jan Činčera is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts, University of Trnava, specializing in environmental education and sustainable development. Previously, he served as Assistant Professor at Masaryk University Brno (2013–present at time of documentation) and Technical University of Liberec (2002–2015), where he established the Leisure Pedagogy program and served as Deputy Department Head. His academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Information Science (2001) and PhDr. (2002) from Charles University Prague, complemented by specialized training in Earth Education (2008) and Systemic Thinking (1993). His educational foundation spans teaching qualifications (1994), Information Studies (1996), and Library Science. Činčera's research pioneers the integration of emancipatory and instrumental approaches in environmental education, emphasizing experiential learning through games and nature-based activities. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical implementation in ecological education centers, focusing on developing effective strategies for sustainability education across formal and non-formal settings. He has significantly contributed to global education methodologies and civil society engagement through innovative pedagogical tools.
